Flooding in Baton Rouge

Beacon House is very thankful to report that during the recent flooding in Baton Rouge, our office was not flooded. That was not the case for many friends and families. Catastrophic flooding has devastated many homes in the area. Authorities have so many applications for aid that they can’t keep up.  We encourage anyone who is able to do whatever they can to help the victims of the flooding in Southeast Louisiana. Beacon House has donated to both the Food Bank of Baton Rouge and the Live Oak United Methodist Church (a local church providing food in Denham Springs, hit very hard). Please remember to give what you can to local charities who are “boots on the ground” in Louisiana. There are many more aid organizations, this is not an exclusive list, but these are some that are giving a lot of help to those in need right now.

Baton Rouge Food Bank
Samaritan’s Purse
First United Methodist Church (general help and shelter)
Capital Area United Way
Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Associated Professional Educators of Louisiana
Save the Children Gulf Coast Disaster Relief Fund
