Goal Setting and Adoption
To quantify what you wish to achieve, it may help to set some goals for your adoption. In setting goals, be specific: explicitly set forth; definite. Make sure that you are clear and detailed in all communication. Each component should be particularly fitted to a use or purpose. It should be limited, distinctive, or unique. “A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal. To set a specific goal, answer the five “W” questions:
Who: Who is involved?
What: What do I want to accomplish?
Where: Where will I accomplish the goal?
When: When will I work on this goal? What is a realistic time frame for reaching my goal?
Why: What are the reasons, purpose or benefits of accomplishing the goal?”
