At the end of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Nia Vardalos character gives birth to a baby. She found it impossible to write the sequel dealing with a character that now had a baby. It was only after the adoption of her child that she was to start My Big Fat Greek Wedding II, which is now in theaters.
