Hello, we are Matt & Kristine!
We met on November 1st, 2012, at a second-line parade in New Orleans, Louisiana—a city full of music, magic, and unexpected moments. Not long after, we realized we also wanted to get married and build a family — to share our love of adventure, travel, community, sports, and especially laughter. On November 1st, 2018, surrounded by the people we love most, we were married in a joyful celebration of our commitment.
Our relationship is built on a strong foundation of shared values — compassion, justice, mindfulness, and a deep appreciation for community. These guide how we care for each other, how we connect with the world around us, and how we hope to raise our children. We support one another with kindness and honesty, celebrate life’s joys (big and small), and face challenges as a team. Our home is loving, inclusive, and full of laughter.
When we learned we couldn’t have children biologically after Kristine’s breast cancer diagnosis (she’s been cancer free for 7 years!), adoption was an easy and joyful decision. In February 2020, our dream came true when we adopted our son, Anton. He’s brought so much light into our lives. It’s important to us that Anton feels celebrated and cherished every day, and that is what we want to provide for a new member of our family. He can’t wait to be a big brother and talks about it all the time! We’d love nothing more than to adopt again and give Anton a sibling to grow up with and love. Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family!
With warmth and kindness,
Matt & Kristine
